The Adelaide carnival is now in swing with some important Goodwood and Oaks lead ups.
To the RN Irwin Stakes first where Viddora kicks back off and this star mare is way down in grade on the whole of last prep.
Since winning this very race last year, she contested four straight G1s where fourth in the Manikato was the furthest back she finished.
She then went to Magic Millions day and trotted away with the big open sprint race on the card.
A trial win two weeks ago, she brings in that good first up record. Recall she missed by a nose to She Will Reign in the Moir last September.
Would love to get something around 7-4 as she will be in a good spot from the gate.
We then go to the Auraria Stakes where we take a heavily backed runner from The Championships two weeks ago.
Harmattan was crunched into 6-4 in the Adrian Knox and to be fair, did get a good run all the way.
She got out in time but looked under pressure and not going on with However at the furlong she picked up again and was under a length away.
From this good barrier, she won’t need to get a long way back which is positive from this start near a bend.
Bred to be stayer, she can get a stakes win here. Also have a small saver on Inspirante who is a filly with good ability.
