The Goodwood is the big race of the day at Morphettville and there is plenty of value in store.
We’ll get onto that race later with a couple of runners at odds to have a nibble
However the best of the day is in the SA Fillies Classic as Miss Admiration can get a deserved group win this prep after some sensational runs.
The daughter of Sebring won her maiden then was some way back in the Vinery so maybe not much was expected.
However in the Australian Oaks and the Australasian Oaks, she was very brave late hammering home from last to be third both times.
Mick Price is having a run with his team and this isn’t a tough race to win. At Set Weights she has a huge ratings benefit over her rivals.
The barrier is not pleasant but should only add to the price we get.
For the value of the day, let’s have a play on two in The Goodwood.
Firstly Santa Ana Lane should run a top race now third up in the handicap.
He does have a bit of weight but he is a G1 winner and that Rupert Clarke win also came third up in the Spring.
Coming from last in the DC McKay, he flashed home and looked like this was a perfect target in terms of class and form. Anthony Freedman could win the two G1 Adelaide sprints after Shoals success.
Another great value chance is Missrock whose sprint form in Melbourne has been so good without winning.
Her form includes being 3L away in the Newmarket, a bit over a length back in the Lightning when third and a close second on Derby day up the straight.
Straight track form seems to hold up well from dogleg starts and it is very doubtful she will be leading this time. A quiet run and a late split would do nicely.
