Moonee Valley throws up a really strong looking meeting this weekend and it will be no surprise if this is a meeting that shapes the winter ahead.
Our best of the day is bringing it home in the lucky last with Inn Keeper making a second appearance in the Melbourne Mail in as many starts.
Inn Keeper was responsible for the best time performance of the May Carnival at Warrnambool and that race has since produced six subsequent winners - of which he was one.
He went to Caulfield and found a race that fell apart a bit. That left him needing to do nothing he hadn't done in the past to win for the sixth time in eight starts.
That he was able to win again without having to really let rip should see him perfectly placed to get back to the fast-time running machine that we saw at the Bool.
He is drawn to let rip here from the wide draw for one of the best speed jockeys around in Linda Meech. There's a bit to like! Of course what really matters is that we like the price, and we
The three-year-old races on the card are terrific and race two looks one that will throw up plenty of winners in the weeks ahead.
One of those is King's Authority and at double-figure odds in early betting he looks one to keep on side this weekend.
In similar fashion to Inn Keeper he arrives off a good run last time but one that he can surely build
His best racing is ahead of him and his ratings profile shows him talented enough to cut it in good handicaps at this time of year.
