We’re just two days away from one of the highlights of summer, the Busan Mayor’s Cup and the showdown between CheongdamDokki and Triple Nine but before that, there’s a challenging Friday card at Busan to get stuck into.

Just two wins separate You Hyun Myung and last year’s champion Jo InKwen at the top of the Busan jockey championship and with the likely favourites spread around, neither is likely to dominate across the nine Friday races although both can add to their tallies.
You has an excellent chance of kicking things off with a winner when he partners Joyful Memory in race 1 and he also rides JoeunHae, the probable favourite of race 6.
As for Jo InKwen, he has a number of promising mounts but the best looks to be Choegang Bullet in race 7; the three-year-old Fast Bullet colt has come up short as favourite on each of his last three starts but should get the job done this time.
In that same race, You rides Chrome Magic for Thomas Gillespie, who is not without a chance, and the other expat trainers could have a good day too. In the feature race, Peter Wolsleysaddles SillauiJeonseol, who goes looking for his third straight victory in the concluding race 9. He’s carrying significantly more weight than he did when he beat several of his rivals at class and distance on June 1st but can win again. Earlier in the day, Aussie handler Wolsley’s Flashy Miss looks the one to beat in race 5.
Bart Rice can also be among the winners. His filly Ihyen was a smart four-length winner on her last appearance and despite being up in class will take some beating in race 4.
There are 9 Friday races at Busan from 11:30am to 6pm local Korea time.
