Aaron Bain will unveil his latest tried horse project at Morphettville Parks on Saturday when former Victorian Lounge Bar Rubi tackles a 6 1⁄4 f handicap.

A $65,000 Inglis Digital purchase in March, Lounge Bar Rubi arrived in South Australia with a rating of 79 and a CV that included six wins and some Stakes form.

Bain isn't expecting any first-up heroics form the son of Rubick but he's seen enough in his trackwork to think there is a win in the gelding during the spring.

"He's a really interesting runner for us and he'll probably take a run or two to hit his straps," Bain said.

"He's had five goes first-up and hasn't won.

"He hasn't won for two years so like a lot of these tried horses, we've got to put the wheels back on but I think three or four runs into the preparation we will see his best."

Bain is more bullish about the prospects of maiden mare Bellezze, who will carry blinkers for the first time in Saturday's 6 1⁄4 f maiden.

The daughter of Artie Schiller has been placed in three of her seven starts to date.

"She just hits a bit of a flat spot from the 2 f to the 1 1⁄2 f and I know she was caught up in a bit of traffic last start but she hit the line really well late," he said.

"The blinkers go on and we want her to get out of that flat spot because we think she can win her maiden in town and Saturday does look a good race for her."
